Dalības maksa 100 Euro, kora dalībnieku skaits nedrīkst pārsniegt 50, brīvas izvēles repertuārs, max. 40 minūtes. 

“8th INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF SCHOOL CHOIRS (KARDITSA-GREECE)”

From Thursday 31st March until Saturday 9th of April 2016 (Greece) the 8th INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF SCHOOL CHOIRS will take place in Karditsa (Greece).

The International Meeting of School Choirs is a leading artistic event in Greece and worldwide due to his unique regulation.

More than 5000 singers from Greece and abroad are coming to take part in the International Meeting of School Choirs in Karditsa, every year.

This important event is being organized by the Regional Directorate of Education of Thessaly with the collaboration of the Panhellenic Federation of Choirs and Choral Conductors under the aegis of the Ministry of Education (with the collaboration of the Municipality of Karditsa and the Region of Thessaly).

The 8th International Meeting of School Choirs is dedicated to leading composers Angelo Catelani (1811-1866) for the 150 years since his death, Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa (1566-1613) for the 450 years since his birth, Giovanni Paisiello (1740-1816) for the 200 years since his death, Jean Francois Rameau (1716-1777) for the 300 years since his birth and Johan Jacob Froberger (1616-1667) for the 400 years since his death.

The event takes place within the 34th International Festival of Karditsa, one on the top cultural and musical-term which is under the artistic direction of Conductor and Professor Nikos Efthimiadis.

An international jury board will choose the best school choirs.

At this event, school choirs will be able to participate regardless of the choir type, with no more than 50 singers. Participants can choose their own repertoire (time is limited to 40 minutes maximum).

Choirs are responsible for their own expenses (travelling, accommodation, meals). Participation fee is 100 Euros.

Karditsa is very closed to Meteora (the famous and unique complex of monasteries on high rocks in the middle of the field, about 40 minutes from Karditsa), to Delphi ( the renowned archaeological site-the Oracle and the temple of Apollo, about 2 hours away from Karditsa), or the sea (about 1 hour away).
